Olivier Rizzo alias Speedy Graphito, est né en 1961. Il est l’un des pionniers du mouvement « Street art » français, et a marqué de son empreinte toute une génération en imposant un style novateur et percutant dès le début des années 1980. Speedy Graphito vit l’art comme une expérience de vie. Il en explore les différentes facettes, n’hésitant pas a remettre en question sa propre identité artistique. Ses styles sont nombreux et dévoilent des univers où l’artiste, guidé par son instinct, aime se perdre à la recherche d’une évolution possible. Aussi à l’aise dans les performances picturales publiques que dans l’intimité de son atelier, Speedy se livre corps et âme à sa passion dans l’urgence du temps qui passe. Élaborées par thèmes, ses expositions se succèdent offrant des propositions toujours nouvelles et surprenantes. Sa marque de fabrique est celle d’un artiste libre, d’un art joyeux et profond, aux couleurs souvent vives, dans lequel il bouscule de façon ludique et ironique nos systèmes de perception. Dans cette démarche, il n’hésite pas à s’approprier pour la détourner toute l’imagerie de la culture artistique et populaire réalisant ainsi un décryptage quasi-systématique de notre inconscient collectif. Il décline alors en autant d’interrogations les normes et les diktats de notre identité culturelle occidentale, superposant à la réalité de notre société une dimension poétique et personnelle. He is one of the pioneers of the French “Street art” movement, and left his mark on an entire generation by imposing an innovative and impactful style from the beginning of the 1980s. Speedy Graphito lives art as a life experience. He explores its different facets, not hesitating to question his own artistic identity. His styles are numerous and reveal universes where the artist, guided by his instinct, likes to get lost in search of possible evolution. As comfortable in public pictorial performances as in the privacy of his studio, Speedy devotes himself body and soul to his passion in the urgency of the passing of time. Developed by theme, its exhibitions follow one another offering always new and surprising proposals. His trademark is that of a free artist, a joyful and profound art, often with bright colors, in which he challenges our systems of perception in a playful and ironic way. In this approach, he does not hesitate to appropriate and divert all the imagery of artistic and popular culture, thus achieving an almost systematic deciphering of our collective unconscious. He then declines in as many questions the norms and diktats of our Western cultural identity, superimposing a poetic and personal dimension on the reality of our society.
