Philippe Geluck est né en 1954 à Bruxelles. Dessinateur, comédien, homme de radio et de télévision. Après des études à l’Insas (Institut national supérieur des arts du spectacle), il commence sa carrière sur les planches où il joue Mackie dans l’Opéra de quat’sous, Werther 75, Roméo et Juliette, Faust, Bent... En 1976, il lance le Théâtre Hypocrite et y joue Chaval ou Copi. En 1982, il crée “Un certain Plume” de Michaux. En 1978 il entame une collaboration avec la RTBF, chaîne publique belge, d’où naîtront plus de 1500 émissions au ton mordant, tant en télé qu’en radio. Depuis 1996, il participe régulièrement aux émissions de Laurent Ruquier, d’abord sur France Inter, ensuite sur Europe 1 dans « On va s’gêner !». Depuis septembre 1999, il collabore à « Vivement Dimanche Prochain » sur France 2. Il sévit aussi dans « On a tout essayé » sur cette même chaîne. Geluck n’a jamais cessé de dessiner : il publie son premier cartoon à l’âge de quinze ans et expose ses aquarelles et dessins d’humour à Bruxelles, Paris, Londres, Milan, Copenhague, Dallas. En mars 1983, il crée Le Chat pour le quotidien belge Le Soir. Et depuis on peut retrouver ce célèbre matou dans la presse française, espagnole, portugaise, allemande, suisse, hollandaise, italienne, américaine et de bien d’autres pays. Philippe Geluck a publié une vingtaine d’albums chez Casterman, vendus à plusieurs millions d’exemplaires. En octobre 2003, à Paris, puis en février 2004 à Bruxelles, Geluck propose une exposition monumentale retraçant une vie de bonheurs graphiques. 250 000 visiteurs ont découvert « Le Chat s’expose » avant la tournée francophone qui s’étalera sur plusieurs années. After studying at Insas (National Higher Institute of Performing Arts), he began his career on the stage where he played Mackie in the Threepenny Opera, Werther 75, Roméo et Juliette, Faust, Bent... In 1976, he launched the Théâtre Hypocrite and played Chaval ou Copi there. In 1982, he created Un certain Plume de Michaux. In 1978 he began a collaboration with RTBF, a Belgian public channel, from which more than 1,500 programs with a biting tone were born, both on TV and radio. Since 1996, he has regularly participated in Laurent Ruquier’s broadcasts, first on France Inter, then on Europe 1 in “On va s’gêner!”. Since September 1999, he has collaborated on “Vivement Dimanche Prochain” on France 2. He is also active in “On a tout essayé” on the same channel. Geluck has never stopped drawing: he published his first cartoon at the age of fifteen and exhibited his watercolors and humorous drawings in Brussels, Paris, London, Milan, Copenhagen, Dallas. In March 1983, he created Le Chat for the Belgian daily Le Soir. And since then we can find this famous cat in the French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Swiss, Dutch, Italian, American press and many other countries. Philippe Geluck has published around twenty albums with Casterman, selling several million copies. In October 2003, in Paris, then in February 2004 in Brussels, Geluck offered a monumental exhibition retracing a life of graphic joy. 250,000 visitors discovered “Le Chat s’expose” before the French-speaking tour which will extend over several years.
